Excellent keyboard, but possibly some sticky keys

This is the second keyboard I purchased from Varmilo. The first one was the Minilo Bluebell. The quality of that keyboard was excellent. However, what drove me to this second purchase is the 87 key layout. I really wish they make the Minilo Bluebell in 87 key format.

The quality of the CMYK87 keyboard does not seem as good as the Minilo. I have used the CMYK87 for about 2 weeks now. Sometime the "Enter" key a little bit sticky. I will give it another week. If the problem persist, I will have to contact Varmilo support about this issue.

    Hi there,

Thank you for your feedback on the CMYK87 keyboard. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the sticky 'Enter' key. We recommend trying to remove the satellite switch and reinstalling it, adding some lubricant, or swapping the satellite switch of another key to the 'Enter' key. Here is a tutorial on replacing the satellite switch: https://drive.google.com/file/d/19kuwRFRXEe5AW84UVPfxcgNFr3LlehZZ/view?usp=sharing. Please let us know if this resolves the issue. We strive to provide top-quality products and excellent customer service, so please do not hesitate to reach out to us for further assistance.

    Best regards,
    Varmilo customer service

    Unreliable keyboard

My experience with the Varmilo keyboard has been mixed, to say the least. After several months of use, a critical issue arose: pressing one key would trigger unintended inputs from others. The repair process began with a remote attempt to fix the problem via a firmware update, which proved unsuccessful.

Further diagnostics at the service center revealed a hardware malfunction: a short circuit in the key matrix caused by a damaged SMD component. Technicians replaced the microcontroller and re-soldered components in the affected area, but the issue persisted. The only viable solution was to disable the Num5 key entirely, leaving the keyboard functional but incomplete.

    Key Takeaway:
The service team suggested the issue might have been caused by a voltage surge or static discharge. However, my PC is equipped with a Seasonic 1000W power supply, which includes built-in protections like overvoltage protection (OVP), short-circuit prevention (SCP), and other safeguards. This strongly implies the problem originated elsewhere:

Static electricity may have entered through the USB port or chassis (e.g., via physical contact).

A localized failure in the keyboard’s circuitry or a manufacturing defect could also be to blame.

    About the Service:
The technicians demonstrated professionalism: they waived repair fees, transparently explained the situation, and offered solutions. That said, the fact that a premium keyboard failed despite being connected to a high-quality PSU raises concerns about its durability and resilience.

    Recommendations for Varmilo Users:

Pair your setup with a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) featuring voltage stabilization and a surge protector for added peripheral safety.

Ground your workspace to minimize static electricity risks.

Be aware that even high-end keyboards may have vulnerabilities unrelated to your PC’s power supply.

    Final Thoughts:
The Varmilo keyboard offers a satisfying typing experience, but its reliability is questionable. I now face a choice: tolerate a non-functional key or invest in a replacement. I hope the brand addresses such weaknesses in future models. For now, I advise potential buyers to weigh the risks carefully and prioritize additional protection for peripherals, even if using a top-tier PSU.

    OBSESSED

Okay, I love mechanical keyboards and this one is definitely my new favorite. I do a lot of audio recording at my computer desk, so having a very quiet keyboard is a must, but it's hard to find a nice mechanical keyboard that is also very quiet. This is it! This fits the bill! I love it.

    Worth the $40 Shipping!

I did not expect to love this keyboard so much out of the box! I shopped around for awhile looking for something full-sized with silent switches. My previous keyboard was very flat, so I anticipated switching the keycaps to an XDA profile, but I ended up loving the cherry caps it came with. Every part of this keyboard is high quality. The Kailh Prestige Silent switches sound and feel incredible. All of the keys are well-stabilized and the case has a nice weight to it. I love it so much I've been switching it between my WFH and personal setups so I can use it all day. The only drawback is that the "RGB" is just static color with no options other than a brightness setting. I don't use RGB though, so it's perfect for me!

    Just very solid

I'm not a keyboard guy, I've only had 1 mechanical keyboard before. I bought this one with Kailh Prestige Silents and it's extremely satisfying to type on. The quiet, thocky sounds had me thinking about typing on it for the first few weeks I had it.
